Seriously, when was the last time you listened to 'Voodoo Chile'?
It's an utterly hypnotic 15 minutes of magic, and then it dawns on you ...
...that it's Steve Winwood, Jimi Hendrix, and Buddy Miles jamming. A miracle!

    Personal faves:

McDonald & Giles, Ginger Baker's Air Force, the two Reebop albums (the second one is a reissue), Lou Reed's Berlin, Reggae Got Soul, Ijahman, Viv's Sir Henry at Rawlinson End (crazy stuff), Marianne Faithfull's Broken English (four stars), Capaldi's Fierce Heart, Talk Talk's the Colour of Spring (four stars). I've trawled record stores all over the place (before Ebay was what it is) looking for this stuff. Sort of gave up once I realized there were so many! Some great obscure gems. Is Stomu Yamashta's Go not on the list? That (and the live album that followed) is tremendous.
